   THE TWIN LAKES AREA

Mountain Home, Arkansas, is most commonly known as the Twin Lakes Area because it lies between two of the most beautiful lakes in the country, Lake Norfork and Bull Shoals Lake.  Besides that advantage, there are three famous rivers in the area, the White River and the North Fork River, known world wide as some of the best trout fishing rivers, and the Buffalo National River, famous for smallmouth bass fishing and canoeing.  There are three golf courses in the area and many other outdoor activities.

Mountain Home has long been known for its friendliness and hospitality.  Long ago as people toured the area, many found it a wonderful place to retire.  Besides the outdoor activities on the lakes and rivers, the cost of living and housing are low compared to most larger cities in the United States.  There are several types of organizations that one can join that meets people's interest.  The health facilities are outstanding.

Lately small businesses have found the it is an excellent location where they can set up an operation that has mature skilled talent from younger retirees and low costs for maintenance.

Needless to say the families have found it a haven for bringing their children here to grow up in a beautiful environment without all the troubles faced by the big cities in the United States.  The schools in the area are some of the best in Arkansas and there is now a two year college campus in a beautiful wooded setting that is affiliated with the Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  This university is not only a great place for young people, but many seniors citizens find it wonderful to attend in order to continue learning new skills and adding new knowledge to their interests.
