If you are planning to relocate in Arkansas' Ozarks, you will find no better environment for living, raising a family, or running a business. You will find the climate pleasing.  There are four distinct seasonsThe spring and fall colors are outstanding. The summers are usually warm to hot, but the lakes and rivers are excellent places to visit during the hot spells. The winters are mild, but it is not unusual to see a snowfall or two. The area is well known for its low crime rate and its affordable living cost. Although the area is growing, the pace of expansion is reasonable. Investing in a home or business is mostly likely going to be a good buy in the foreseeable future. The schools are excellent, and the local college is one of the most outstanding facilities in the state. Many people retire in the area from different walks of life. Those people who wish to work part or full time even after retiring, offer great advantages to small businesses in the area. For more information about retirement in the Mountain Home area, visit my section on this website about retirement.

The outdoor recreational opportunities in the area are some of the most attractive reasons for relocating in this area of the country. There are two large lakes, world class trout fishing rivers, the National Buffalo Waterway, state parks for hiking, biking, camping, and other outdoor sports. The area has three golf courses, one of which is a five star facility.

Although Mountain Home, Arkansas is a rather quiet community with a "laid back" relaxing way of life, it is only a couple of hour drive from a more bustling atmosphere that can be found in the Branson, Missouri, with its many music theaters and outlet malls and parks. A two hour drive will also take you to Springfield, Missouri, or about a three hour drive will take you to Little Rock, Arkansas, where there are many national touring events scheduled for cultural and sports activities.
