The National REALTORS® Association's 2007 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers estimated that the average seller that was represented by a real estate agent netted 16% more dollars in the final closing than the unrepresented seller who did all the work themselves. That may seem a bit strange since there was a service fee. If you want to know why, just call us. We can show you how this is generally the case.

    If you do choose someone to represent you, be sure you choose wisely. You need to hire a person who is going to be honest with you about your opportunities for selling your home in a timely manner. You cannot put a price on that kind of service, can you?  If you look for someone who will tell you only the things that you like to hear, promise low fees, spend countless time letting you wait before telling you that you can't sell your home or even worse makes little or no effort to market your place in a professional manner, can you really afford that person?

     If you think that by selling your home yourself, you will save a service fee, you have not  yet realized the  FIRST OBVIOUS  REASON why people buy from "For Sale By Owners":  they are trying to save money. You therefore end up selling lower and in reality pay them what you would pay a real estate professional, who does all the advertising and work for you.  It is a fact, according to Floyd Wickman, expert marketing advisor, that more thanWe need a HELP Button to get our place sold! 70% of those who sell ( maybe higher in tough times) end up listing their homes with a real estate agency.  If that is the case, why would a buyer avoid going through a real estate agency, which has most of the homes for sale, plan on using his own gas to look for a home, and do all the work of negotiating and closing, and then seek out less than 30% of the market unless he thinks he will save money. Yes, you will pay a fee, but it will be to the buyer, who may in turn sue you if things don't go right.  There are FIVE OTHER REASONS why we, as professional REALTORS®, can usually sell a house for more money than a private owner can and generally sell in less time.     If you are a seller, there are many other reasons for seeking a REALTOR® . Foremost, you can get advice about a marketable selling price. Comparative pricing analysis is readily available through tools used by real estate agents. Also, a REALTOR® will have a network to seek out qualified buyers and be able to market your home in a way to sell it as quickly as the market will allow, and show your house in the best light. Sometimes it is hard to do these things by yourself because you have so much emotional attachment to your home.  There are probably many more reasons, but these should be reasons enough why some people find it easier, more convenient, and generally more profitable to use a professional real estate agency with a good marketing program.

    Select carefully when choosing a REALTOR®. Not all real estate agencies are created equal.
