Tucked away in the little rural town of Des Arc, Arkansas, is the state's smallest state park by land mass, the Lower White River Museum. For those interested in the growth of commerce along the White River or just those history buffs, who want to explore the area, this museum is chucked full of information. The displays are great and the pictures are stunning of the early days in this river town. This is well worth your time if you want to take it in while traveling in that area. Since there are no campsites at this park, if you want to stay in the area while hauling a camper or driving a motorhome, I suggest staying at Village Creek or Mississippi River State Parks. For a motel, I suggest Brinkley or Cabot, Arkansas.

Yes, it is small park, but it is packed full of information about the early settlement in the area and the importance of the river to its growth. If you are traveling with a trailer, fifth wheel, or motor home, there is a parking lot across the street from the museum with room to park your vehicle. The local business there doesn't mind.
