Mississippi River State Park
A new Visitor Center is over-the-top, and the park has an excellent campground.

This state park, located at the southern tip of Crowley's Ridge along the Mississippi River, is within the 23,000-acre St. Francis National Forest, which is operated by the U. S. Forest Service. The park stretches out along part of two scenic byways, the Crowley Ridge Parkway Road and the Great River Road. There is a new Visitor Center that has outstanding displays of the history and flora and fauna of the area. The Beech Point Campground, nearest to the center, is located on a peninsula on Bear Creek Lake. Although it has only 17 sites, 14 of these have full hookups and are mostly on the lake. If you are not inclined to camp, but would rather have a motel and want to visit the park, look for accommodations in the city of Marianna, Arkansas. There are plenty of day use areas to enjoy even if you not are staying in the park.
