Oakland Park Corps of Engineers Campground

Our favorite fishing spot on Bull Shoals Lake!!

Check out the slide shows, pictures, and information below.

Beginning in the early 1940s, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers constructed dams on numerous tributaries of the Mississippi River in Arkansas. The resulting large lakes brought vast new stretches of open water that altered the state's scenery and expanded its natural recreational opportunities.

Today, Corps of Engineers recreation areas, located on the lakes and rivers, offer ready access to a variety of camping, fishing, boating, sailing, water-skiing, swimming, scuba diving, bird watching, hiking and hunting opportunities. Corps of Engineers camping  facilities range from primitive to paved pads with full hook-ups if you want to park your RV. Hot showers are also available. If you want to enjoy visiting COE parks on Bull Shoals Lake or Lake Norfork but you do not camp, I suggest you stay in Mountain Home at a motel or one of the number of resorts around either of these lakes.

There are lots of Corps of Engineers parks throughout the state of Arkansas. We enjoy camping at Oakland Park since it is within about 20 miles of where we live, and we can easily take our boat there for fishing on Bull Shoals Lake. Check the list of the parks at the bottom of this web page.
